The Weimaraner standing dog or Weimaraner is a German dog breed, originally bred for the detection of wildlife, such as bears, and as a hunting dog for the small game hunt. About the origin of the breed is little known, but it is certain that the dog was held in Weimar at the start of the hunting-court of Karl August, the Grand Duchess of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach, at the beginning of the nineteenth century.
A Weimaraner is a passionate hunting dog but above all a friend. It needs an active owner who has enough time for him. It’s not a dog that you leave alone for 8 hours when the boss is at work.
Take a look around for news and information about the Weimaraner. There is also information and pictures about our own dogs. What we would like is that you write something in the guestbook. Have fun on the site of Luna’s Legacy!
