Calamiteiten Protocol Luna’s Legacy

Vehicle Breakdown

In the event of a breakdown with our dog-walking bus, replacement transport is always available within 30–60 minutes. The bus is insured and will be towed to the garage if necessary.

Heat & Weather

Luna’s Legacy always ensures that adequate protection is provided for the dogs to prevent overheating or hypothermia.

Heat Protocol

  • If temperatures rise above 25°C (77°F), the schedule may be adjusted according to the weather.
  • Walks may be moved earlier in the day.
  • Walks may be shortened in duration.
  • If temperatures exceed 29°C (84°F), dogs will no longer be transported in the dog-walking bus. Instead, we will come to your home to give your dog a short opportunity to go outside.
  • Red Heat Code: The dog-walking service will be closed. Notifications will be sent via the app.

Bite Incident

  • In the event of a bite, the dogs involved will be separated and checked for injuries.
  • Owners will be notified as soon as possible, and consultation with the vet will occur if necessary.
  • Luna’s Legacy has a first aid kit in the bus, and staff are trained to administer first aid.
  • Luna’s Legacy reserves the right, with signed authorization if needed, to take your dog(s) to a veterinarian.
  • Owners must provide the name and mobile number of a contact person for urgent communication.
  • Arrangements have been made with veterinary practices in Delft and Den Hoorn.

Severe Weather

  • In case of extreme weather, weather alerts, or icy conditions, walks will be suspended.
  • Red Alert: No walks take place.
  • Orange Alert: We assess whether walking is safe for the dogs.

Injury or Discomfort

  • Since we see the dogs daily or weekly, any changes in behavior or posture, discomfort, or injuries are quickly noticed and reported to the owner as soon as possible.
  • If needed and in consultation with the owner, we may take the dog to a veterinarian.
  • Luna’s Legacy reserves the right, with signed authorization, to take your dog(s) to a veterinarian in urgent cases.
